City preparing for street pavement overlay

This year’s pavement overlay is being performed through Snohomish County using Cemex as the general contractor.

The streets selected are shown in the above map.

With weather permitting, Cemex tentatively expects to begin work just after Aquafest (July 29) and to complete the pavement work by early September.

The work will consist of the upgrade of the existing sidewalk ramps first. The ramps will be demolished along all of the segments then new ramps installed within a few days following.

Pavement work will consist of some pavement edge grinding then the placement of the asphalt surfacing.

It is expected that work will begin on the street in the vicinity of downtown starting on Grade Road.

The Contractor anticipates to allow for one lane on Grade, Main Street, and 99th Ave. NE during all stages of work. 123rd and North Lakeshore will likely be detoured around.

Please prepare for any detours and continued patience is appreciated.
