Local kids learn more than performing at Ludus

August 27, 2013

Ludus Youth Theatre Group (LYTG) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping young, creative people explore their passion for the theatre arts.

Besides stage performing, everyone in Ludus has the opportunity to help and learn from all disciplines such as set design, costume creation, dance choreography and so much more.

Many of the kids are from Lake Stevens.

Adults are there to guide, mentor and give the youth the encouragement they need to succeed. Ludus was started less than a year ago and they already have over 20 dedicated kids ages 6-20.

In the first few months they raised enough money through fundraisers to purchase the rights to their first musical, “Disney’s The Jungle Book”, as well as the other costs it takes to start a non-profit organization. Ludus is based in Lake Stevens.

The group performed “Jungle Book” on August 24 at the Snohomish County PUD Theater.

Their next musical is “Annie!” Open auditions will be held on September 21 and 22.

Audition appointments are being set up now. Contact Cheryl@ludusyouththeatre.org to set up an audition appointment time. For more information on Ludus and Annie auditions visit their website http://www.ludusyouththeatre.org.
