Special Olympians have special day

On August 18 the Lake Stevens Vikings Special Olympic softball team earned a silver medal at the Special Olympics State softball tournament.

Special Olympics Washington has four regions. To qualify for the state tournament you must be the top team at your skill level for your region. The levels range from one (the highest skill level) to seven (the lowest skill level).

The Vikings qualified at level three along with three other teams from around the state. After two days of competition the Vikings walked away with the second place medal.

Congratulations to the Vikings and thank you for representing Lake Stevens so well.
