Granite Falls teens create culinary art at decorating event

August 29, 2013

Granite Falls teens had the opportunity to create some culinary art on Saturday, July 27. The Friends of the Granite Falls Library funded a cupcake decorating event at the Granite Falls Library. Teens enjoyed designing cupcakes that spoke to this year’s summer reading theme, “Beneath the Surface.” After completing their works of art, most of the participants devoured their cupcakes.

Jude Anderson, the Managing Librarian, thought “one cupcake might have survived long enough for its creator to take home.” Everyone had a good time.

The next big teen event will be the Granite Falls Mini-Comic-Con on August 24. That day will be filled with many activities including an opportunity for young artists to display their comic and manga style art, games, a movie, and a presentation by a professional prop builder. The Mini-Comic-Con will run 11-5 on August 24. For more information, visit the events page of Sno-Isle Libraries at http://www.sno-isle.org.
