Books for Bikes giveaway winners

September 17, 2013

Students Elen Wahl and Nathaniel Wilson claimed their prizes for winning the Books for Bikes Giveaway, a program offered by the Lake Stevens Library and other Sno-Isle Libraries around the county.

There were over 730 kids aged 0-10 who signed up for the program with our Lake Stevens library. Once participants read 10 books they received one free book and they were entered into the drawing. Those who continued reading and read an additional 10 books were entered in the drawing again. There were a total of 408 entries in the Books for Bikes Giveaway drawing.

The Freemasons of Washington donated the bikes to the library for the reading program. Helmets were donated by Safe Kids Snohomish County and fitted by Lake Stevens Fire. Freemasons of Washington Representative Jack Houston presented the bikes and Lake Stevens Fire Public Educator Jennye Cooper fit both winners with new helmets.
