LSEF awards grant to LSSD Early Learning Center
The Lake Stevens Education Foundation awarded its Innovative Learning Grant to the Lake Stevens School District’s Early Learning Center.
The grant money will be used for Wordless Books which are a large part of reading.
These books help students develop oral language skills by asking basic story questions, including character, setting, who was there, what happened, how did you feel?
The second grant was for Dramatic Play which will assist students in cooperative, imaginative play that encourages application of social rules of behavior; builds an awareness of and ability to express emotions; and helps in the development of language skills.
If you would like to support the Innovative Teaching and Learning grants please make your tax-deductible donation by going to the LSEF website at http://www.LkStevensEF.org or dropping off your donation at any Lake Stevens school.
The LSEF will be holding a Wine & Beer tasting and auction on February 7, 2014.
You can go to their website to purchase tickets.
