Lake Stevens Police Beat


The police department responded to 524 incidents in the week of December 29, 2013 through January 04, 2014. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable contacts:

Minor in Possession (MIP)/Providing a Premise to Minors to Consume Liquor, 12/31/13, 8900 block of 17th St. NE

Several minors were arrested for MIP after officers were dispatched to an underage drinking party with approximately 200 people. The host of the party, a 17-year-old male, was also cited for providing a premise for under age consumption of liquor and MIP. All the minors contacted were released from the scene without further incident.

Burglary, 01/01/14, 10100 block of N. Davies Rd.

A 20-year-old male was arrested for burglary. Officers were dispatched to a home alarm. Upon arriving the officer had searched the residence and located the intoxicated male attempting to hide in a bathtub within the residence. It was discovered the male had been at a party and had decided to go for a swim in the lake; instead ended up in the home setting off the alarm. The male was taken into custody and booked into Snohomish County Jail.

Burglary, 01/01/14, 9600 block of 9th Pl. SE

Two unknown males entered the residence while the homeowner was in the shower. The males fled the scene on foot once they realized that the home was occupied. Officers arrived on scene and setup containment and asked K-9 to assist. The dog was unsuccessful in locating the suspects. The scene was cleared and the case will be reopened pending further information.

Boating Rescue, 01/02/14, on waterway of Lake Stevens

Two adult males were rescued by officers after their canoe overturned near Wyatt Park. Neither of the occupants wore life jackets and they attempted to swim for shore. The officers were able to pull the men out of the water. The men were transported to the dock and aid from the medics call to the scene. Both were transported to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia. Officers cleared the scene.

Possession of Heroin and False Statement, 01/03/14, 89th Ave. SE

A 21-year-old male was arrested for possession of heroin and a 23-year-old male was arrested for false statement. Officers contacted the males while investigating a suspicious circumstance. The 21-year-old male was determined to be under the influence and was booked into Snohomish County Jail. The 23-year-old male had provided the officer with false information during the investigation and was cited and released from the scene.

Driving Under the Influence (DUI)/Collision/Obstructing and Disorderly, 01/04/14, Market Pl./SR 9

A 41-year-old female was arrested for DUI after she was involved in a collision. Officers responded to an injury collision. Driver of Unit #1 was intoxicated and processed for DUI. The passenger of Unit #2 treated by aid for injuries. A 47-year-old male, who was a non involved family member, continued to interfere with the firefighters who were trying to treat the passenger. The male was asked several times to step back and allow the firefighters to do their job. He became uncooperative and began swearing at the firefighters. The male was cited for obstructing and disorderly conduct. The case is under investigation pending further information.
