Thanks to those who gave blood

Dear Editor,

Thank you very much to all those who registered to give blood at the Lake Stevens Community Blood Drive on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

There were a total of 22 donors registered, 17 pints of blood collected and three first time donors that joined our blood program.

Because of your generosity and donation, you will certainly help our low blood supply.  All donations were sent to our lab to be tested and separated into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets.

This means each donation helps up to three patients in need and this blood drive will save or dramatically improve the lives of up to 51 patients!  Already patients in local hospitals may be benefiting from the gift of your donation.

I would like to give special thanks to Ken Brown, Lake Stevens Kiwanis, Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Melissa Hemrich and the Lake Stevens Lions for your tremendous help in organizing and coordinating the blood drive here and to Safeway Lake Stevens for your ongoing support and for providing a convenient place for donors to give the gift of life!

If you donated on the 14th you will be eligible to donate again on March 11, 2014.

Please visit our website at www.psbc.org to find a blood drive near you.

Thank you for coming in to make a difference in someone’s life.
