Lake Stevens Sewer District has recently completed their review of a Program and Performance Audit and has made significant changes to their operations, saving millions of dollars.
Suggested changes included update of operations manuals, employee benefits, reduction of staff, and a general review of all service providers. While the employees do a great job of staying within the budget, it was a good time to take advantage of a third party review.
All suggested changes have been implemented, saving the District and rate payers money. Overall the Program and Performance Audit was very good and reflects a very stable entity. The audit was completed by Moss Adams Advisory Services.
The district collected, transported and treated 914 million gallons of wastewater in 2013.
On January 29 they had the highest one-day District flow ever recorded of 5.896 million gallons. Through it all, the membrane system has operated fantastically with all six trains in operation at times, pumping out crystal clear effluent.
