FCCLA students teach students effects of bullying

Amanda Kristofferson and Larisa Kreft are putting an end to bullying at Highland Elementary.

Through Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) they have reached out to six classes at Highland Elementary and taught an anti-bully lesson. They taught in three first grade classes because in their site classes, they had already began to see signs of bullying with the younger children.

They also taught to three fifth grade classes because according to bullyfree.org, bullying is most prevalent during fifth and seventh grades.

They taught to nearly 200 children and even got the students' parents involved by sending a take home packet with activities for the parents and their child to complete. Their hope is that students at Highland continue to" Be a Buddy, Not a Bully"!
