Local bank robber apprehended

On Wednesday. February 12 at approximately 3:16 a.m. Lake Stevens Patrol located and arrested Darnell J. Thomas, 21, for probable cause of robbery in the first degree.

Thomas entered the Wells Fargo Bank in the Albertson's parking at 91st Ave. NE on January 3, 2014 and handed the teller a note demanding money. Thomas fled the scene when the teller walked away from him. Detectives established probable cause through a tip received from the community.

Lake Stevens Officers were aware of the probable cause for Thomas and located his vehicle while on patrol. Thomas was arrested without incident and booked into Snohomish County Jail.

"Because of the tips that came into our office by the community, we were able to identify this individual. This is a good example of great work between the community and our officers and detectives," said Interim Chief Dan Lorentzen.
