Sewer District awards construction work to Shoreline

The Lake Stevens Sewer District announces they have awarded the Southwest Interceptor project to Shoreline Construction who was the low bidder on this project.

Shoreline Construction will be installing sanitary sewer pipe within 20th Street SE between 83rd and 88th Avenues from March to July 2014.

The right of way permit allows lane closures on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. During this time the contractor is required to keep at least one lane of traffic open, however you can expect some delays. The Sewer District thanks you for your patience.

Manholes are often targets for pranksters and they put items in them that causes havoc on the system and can actually plug up the pipes making a mess for all of us.

If you ever see someone other than employees doing questionable activity in a manhole please call the district office at 425-334-8588 immediately. They also provide after hours service so any time of the day or night and would appreciate the call.

As a service reminder, flushable wipes are something that should never be placed in the toilet. They may be flushable but they do not break down and can cause a plug in the line, which in turn can back up into your home causing thousands of dollars in damage.

They plug up the pump impellers and cause significant damage at a high cost to clean and repair. Please toss in the trash, not the toilet.
