The Lake Stevens Lions Club has added a new daytime meeting in addition to its two evening meetings. For those of you that always wanted to participate in supporting the community and could not attend the evening meetings for various reasons, now is your chance to become involved.
The new meeting is from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., on the last Wednesday of each month, at Papa’s Mexican Grill at 9302 N. Davies Rd., where the old Alfy’s once was. It started in January and is a big hit.
Business people are urged to attend, as well as house moms and dads, retired folks looking for something to do, and those of you that want to meet more people. This month’s meeting is on March 26.
The Lions support the community by doing a number of fund raising activities throughout the year. These activities require many volunteers and many volunteer hours. The current club has about 60 members, and they all come from different areas of life, young and old, male or female, rich or poor.
The club does not discriminate in any way, and members are from all walks of life. Some contribute a lot, some contribute a little. The club welcomes all who are interested in participating.
Being a Lion is fun. You get to know other people and build friendships. When you become a Lion, you join a family recognized around the world. You are among those striving to make life better for others, and it’s a good feeling knowing you are making a difference.
