During the 2014 Washington Festival and Event Association convention held in March, the WFEA awarded Aquafest with three gold medals for the 2013 Lake Stevens Journal Insert, the 2013 Aquafest Event Brochure and the Vendor/Supplier Relationship with Foster Press of Lake Stevens.
The WFEA oversees festivals throughout Washington, and Aquafest competes against other events of the same size and budget.
Aquafest 2014 President Lisa Elder said, "I'm thrilled that Aquafest was awarded. It recognizes the hard work of 2013 President Sue Fernald, the Aquafest Board and the value that we put on our relationships with sponsors and vendors like the Lake Stevens Journal and Foster Press".
The Aquafest board is a volunteer organization and community members are encouraged to participate in planning the three-day event held every July. Pre-events such as the 2014 Miss Aquafest Pageant and Aquafest Idol Contest begin in May.
The 2014 festival, "All American Aquafest" will be held on July 25, 26, 27 in downtown Lake Stevens and information can be found at aquafest.org.
