Everett, WA, April 17, 2014 – Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC), in partnership with The Herald Business Journal and Tulalip Resort & Casino, is gearing up for our Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 22nd at The Tulalip Resort.
At the event we will present two business / community leader awards, which have been given to deserving individuals by EASC founding organizations since the 70s.
Our two awards are the Henry M. Jackson Citizen of the Year and the John M. Fluke, Sr. Community Service. Nominations were accepted from the community until March 28th, and our nomination panel is in the process of reviewing and selecting this year’s recipients. The following are descriptions of our award criteria.
The Henry M. Jackson Citizen of the Year Award, established in 1977, honors someone who demonstrates exemplary service to the community and is committed to the business interests of the region. This individual drives local, state, and regional initiatives for business, promotes civic, social, and cultural programs, and participates in programs that expand the potential and quality of life in Snohomish County.
The John M. Fluke, Sr. Community Service Award, established in 1970, annually recognizes an individual who has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, and business and community leadership coupled with significant community contribution and commitment.
In the last two years, our award winners were Richard Cooper, CEO of The Everett Clinic and Tom Gaffney, former Managing Partner at Moss Adams for the Citizen of the Year Award, and Bill Tsoukalas, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County and Mike & Wendy Popke, Owners of Lynnwood Honda for the Community Service Award. We look forward to presenting our awards to deserving individual, such as these, this May.
