Annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt

Over sixty volunteers gathered to fill eggs and prepare baskets for the

annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt held at Highland Elementary. These volunteers

were a combination of Kiwanis members, Builders Club, Key Club, Bulldog

Ambassadors, Boy Scouts, and other helpers from our community. The 4,000

eggs were scooped up by hundreds of kid in less than three minutes at this

grand event. The Kiwanis Club of Lake Stevens has hosted the Easter Egg

hunt for over 30 years, partnering with the Easter Bunny that rode to the

event on a fire engine. The engine's siren sounded to start the hunt at 1

p.m. and kids from ages 1-11 scrambled for the eggs. In addition to candy,

some eggs had tickets revealing winners of bicycles and baskets, and all

kids received a gift as they left. Representatives of the Lake Stevens

Police Department were on hand to fit helmets for the lucky winners of the

bikes.
