Aquafest Water Sports Tournament

One of the most popular and longest running events at Aquafest is the waterski and wakeboard tournament on Saturday. The waterski tournament is sponsored by the Lake Stevens Waterski and Wakeboard Club and wakeboarding is hosted by WESTRA.

The competition is held in the Cove, with registration and spectators meeting at the City Beach.  The waterski competition classes range from child novice to expert.  The wakeboard competition follows (time approximate after waterski competition) and also has classes ranging from child novice to outlaw, with some demonstrations by nationally ranked competitors.

Waterski registration is at 7:00 am and is $10 for members of the Lake Stevens Waterski/Wakeboard club and $20 for non-members (waterski and wakeboard each require separate registration – See WESTRA for more wakeboard information. The wakeboard competition starts after the waterski competition and the start time is approximately 11:00 --- depending on how many competitors we have for the waterski tournament.

There is a new event under consideration for this year. A wake surf competition may added to the line up. WESTRA Sports is considering the addition of an “exhibition only” event for wake surfing. As wake surfing is growing in popularity, it would be a natural progression to include this fun sport. Confirmation and more details will be upcoming. See the WESTRA website ( for exciting developments.
