On Sunday June 1st at the Lake Stevens Performing Arts Center located at the Lake Stevens High School, five qualified judges made the difficult choice of selecting the new Miss Aquafest Royalty 2014.
The new Royalty will represent Aquafest in seven parades and many other community experiences such as National Night Out against Crime, Halloween Bootacular and Showcase Lake Stevens. The Royalty also participates and raises funds and awareness for charities through walking in events such as: Relay for Life of Lake Stevens, Walk for MS, March For Babies, and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

`In recent years, many of the Miss Aquafest participants have been honored to receive the Presidential Service Award, extended to those who have impressive amounts of service hours. One recipient recently had over 300 hours of invested time in her community, according to Janice Huxford, Aquafest Board Member and Mistress of Ceremonies for Miss Aquafest Pageant.
" The Miss Aquafest Pageant is an age appropriate scholarship program that grants winning contestants with a title and financial award, for sure, but also with the responsibility of representing Snohomish County throughout the region. The Royalty travel to festivals and charity events during the year, are notable at Chamber of Commerce activities, lakeside at Rowing Regattas and the Lake Stevens Ironman 70.3 triathlon and the moving memorials commemorating Veterans and Memorial Day." said Huxford in an Op-Ed letter published in the Lake Stevens Journal on May 21, 2014.
The Aquafest Association believes that these young ladies are all royalty and provides all contestants with a crown and finalist banner.
