The All American Aquafest - United We Lake, is almost here, July 25th through 27th

 

Veterans carrying flags for the opening colors ceremony to start the annual Aquafest Parade.

In appreciation for the sacrifice of the veterans living in our community, and in honor of the 2014 Aquafest theme "All American Aquafest-United We Lake", the 2014 Aquafest board is pleased to partner with Lake Stevens based MELT MASSAGE to offer 15 minute chair massages on Sunday, July 27thfrom 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  MELT MESSAGE will have a booth located on Main Street, in downtown Lake Stevens near City Hall, and will offer this gift to active and retired military and their spouses on a first come, first served basis.  MELT MASSAGE can be contacted for questions prior to the event at 425-299-9745.  Thank you for your service; Welcome Home!

Aquafest Carnival tickets will go on sale on July 11th at three new locations located throughout Lake Stevens.  Tickets can be purchased at Ace Hardware near Frontier Village located on 91st Ave. NE, Tom Thumb Grocery on the corner of South Lake Stevens Road and 20th Street and the Lake Stevens Mini Mart located in Downtown Lake Stevens. 

Auditions for Aquafest Idol are approaching. They will be held on Saturday, July 12th and Saturday July 19th in the Safeway parking lot, at Frontier Village from 12 Noon to 3 PM.  

The categories are: 12 years old and under, 13-16 years old, 17-20 years old, and Duets 20 years of age and under.  Registration will be available at the auditions. Please make sure you will also be available for the Semi-finals on July 26th, and the  Finals on July 27th. The Aquafest Grand parade is now accepting entries. This is a great way to promote your business, political candidacy, church or non profit organization for free or at little cost. The parade is the largest attended event at Aquafest. You don't need a fancy float, just a willingness to have fun! The Grand Parade takes place Saturday, July 26th at 1:00 p.m. To correlate with this year's theme, All American Aquafest - United We Lake, there will be a special theme award given to one parade entry who best expresses this years theme. Get your creative juices flowing and think red, white and blue. There are 15 coveted trophies up for grabs in categories including Cheer/Drill, Novelty/Car, Band and Float.  Visit http://www.aquafest.org to download your parade entry packet and get your entries in soon before all the spaces fill up.
