National Night Out coming Tuesday, Aug.5th

 

On Tuesday, August 5, the Lake Stevens Family Center will host the annual National Night Out Against Crime. The event will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Main Street and North Cove Park in downtown Lake Stevens.   Participants will enjoy a free dinner and snacks, a wide variety of children's activities including team fitness's bouncy house, and Laser tag by Cedar Springs camp. The famous DJ Bob will be the MC providing music and karaoke.

Lake Stevens Police and Fire Departments will compete in the The fifth Annual "Guns and Hoses" showdown.  A host of community resource booths will be available to visit as well as emergency vehicles, racecars, Harleys, and Search and Rescue vehicles anyone can tour!  The entire event is FREE!

National Night Out Against Crime is an event held in 11,000 communities in all 50 states and abroad.  Its purpose is to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships, and send a clear message that our community is organized to resist negative influences and criminal activity.

Major contributors to this event include City of Lake Stevens, Lake Stevens Police Department, Lake Stevens Fire Department, Foster Press for the posters, DJ Bob, Kiwanis and Hawk Eyes for providing free hot dogs, and many others for their food and interactive booths.
