Highland student helps gather gifts for local kids

Camden Anderson convinced her Principal, Mr. Pewitt at Highland Elementary School, to do a holiday gift drive.

She partnered with the Lake Stevens Family Center who helped her gather names for kids who needed Christmas gifts this year.

About 20 classrooms agreed to participate and ended up adopting 17 local families!

The students really got into the spirit of Christmas, some even giving up their own Christmas gifts to help those in need.

One boy whose classroom chose not to participate brought in his own $25 gift card plus $5 and two wrapped gifts while others donated enough cash and gift cards that they were able to help more families and fill gaps for families who didn’t have much.
