GFHS student looking for your help in completing senior project

Each year seniors have to complete a senior project before they can receive that coveted diploma. Granite Falls High School senior Nick Wooldridge is in the process of his project and is asking for the community’s help.

One of his hopes is that his project will inspire other teens to get started with their projects. He also hopes to gain support for his project, a project that is in desperate need of community help.

“My Senior Project plan is to create a Dog Agility Course at my local dog park in Granite Falls, the project is called the Granite Falls Dog Agility Course (GFDAC),” Wooldridge explained.

Students aren’t allowed to ask for monetary donations for their project, therefore, Wooldridge has been trying feverishly to acquire donations for the actual agility equipment needed to complete his project.

“I have been working diligently on this project for months now trying to get the word out by posting Craigslist ads, Facebook pages, flyers, business cards,” he said. “I know that a lot of people love to help out teens, animals, and small communities grow and with these types of stories they do make a difference.”

The equipment varies from $100 to $300 per peice.

“The items I need are hurdles, tire jumps, weave poles, a pause table, tunnel, chute, a dog-walk and a teeter-totter,” Wooldridge said.

Because of the cost of the equipment it is hard for a town the size of Granite Falls to be able to donate everything that is needed. However, businesses could work together to purchase a piece of equipment or ask friends or co-workers from other areas to pitch in.

The Granite Falls Dog Park is located next to the Granite Falls Library.

Wooldridge has set-up a Facebook page at http://www.Facebook.com/gfdac or you can email him directly at [email protected].

Any help you can give would be appreciated.
