Hit and run accidents more prevalent in town

Dear Editor,

On Saturday, January 25, 2014 I was involved in a hit and run accident in the intersection on 91st Ave. and Market Place in Frontier Village at 11 a.m. As I commend Lake Stevens Officer Warbis for being very helpful with the accident and making sure we were all ok I received no help from the public.

It was a sad thing to not have one person step up and try to help identify the car that hit us. There were witnesses that saw the accident but as I was attending to my other passenger they left.

At this time they have not been found and leave us with the aftermath of this accident. If anyone saw this accident please do the right thing and step up. As I talked with Officer Warbis he stated that these types of accidents are happening frequently in our town.

We as citizens of Lake Stevens can help stop these people that have no regard for anyone but themselves. Fortunately we will be ok from the accident but it’s frustrating to all of us that instead of doing the right thing and stopping they ran.

Again if you witness an accident, stop and help the people, make sure they are ok and if the car runs just get a make of the car or a plate number.
