Support school district levies, send in ballots

Dear Editor,

As your State Senator, a life-long Lake Stevens resident, and more importantly a father of children attending schools here in the Lake Stevens School District, I strongly support the two upcoming levy measures in the upcoming election on February 11. I hope you will join me in voting yes for our schools and for our community.

These two levies are simply a continuation of the current levies and tax levels that we voted on in 2010. This continues your investment into quality education for a top-notch school district. Your help will allow for continued support in our classrooms, school transportation, athletics, activities and community programs.

Additionally, your support will help our students be prepared for a global competitive economy by maintaining the critical investments into school technology upgrades as well as improvements to our classrooms. I see it now as I watch my 10-year-old son, Winston, do his math homework on our home computer which is linked to the district’s server.

He and other students in their fifth grade classroom are doing what global companies are doing by interacting with and using technology. All of this because you invested into our future.

As technology advances and demands change, our support is key to giving our students a chance at a challenging competitive future. That means we need to continue supporting our schools and future by voting yes this upcoming election on February 11.

Whether that support is through a monetary contribution to the Citizens for Lake Stevens Schools campaign, a simple endorsement, volunteering, or advocacy, we need your help!

If you would like to be added to our growing list of individuals and/or businesses which support the levy measures, contact us at [email protected]
