Cavelero robotics tournament good news for

Dear Editor,

Last weekend, February 8, Cavelero Mid-High held its first Robotics tournament. This was a huge event with about 45 teams from schools around western Washington.

I had the pleasure to be one of the design judges and had the opportunity to interview several teams and evaluate their designs.

I must say that there are few things that can give you more optimism for our future than to meet these amazing future engineers, including the many teams from here in Lake Stevens.

The robots did an incredible job completing many difficult tasks both under manual control and autonomously. The competition between teams was tough and exciting to watch.

The teachers who organized this (Mike McGrath, Will Fredin, and Jeff Lynass) and the many volunteers did an amazing job.

I hope this becomes a school tradition. I strongly encourage the general public attend future competitions. They will not be disappointed.
