Smartphone apps, social networking sites can be dangerous for kids; parents need to know the dangers, including bullying

Wrestlers from all over Washington hit the mats at the Tacoma Dome on the weekend of February 21-22 including seven wrestlers from Granite Falls High School. First, however, they had to make it through sub-regionals and regionals, which were held on Saturday, February 15 at Squalicum High School.

Eleven students moved forward to the High School Wrestling regional tournament after completing sub-regionals, which was hosted by Granite Falls High School.

The tournament, “went really well and several of our students advanced,” coach Tony Helgeson said.

Tyler Groff, Logan Corbin, Arlyss Jenkins, Tysen Campbell, Riley Hansen, Sean Conaway, Adam Gibson, Ryley Repenn Danielle Crawford, Ethan Short and Alliver Bucholz earned the right to compete in the regional tournament.

The top four pacers in each weight class got to move forward to the State Championship and GFHS had seven of their teammates competing: Tyler Groff, Tysen Campbell, Danielle Crawford, Logan Corbin, Riley Hansen, Arlyss Jenkins and Ryley Repenn.

Senior Danielle Crawford placed fifth in state at 112 lbs. Junior Logan Corbin placed eighth at 113 lbs. and senior Tysen Campbell placed eighth at 145 lbs.
