Granite Falls Fire District #17 (GFFD) is excited to bring a home fire sprinkler demonstration to the community. This dramatic, yet safe, form of education has become increasingly popular with fire departments across the country, and this is our second offering of a home fire sprinkler demonstration.
Come and learn about the facts and dismiss the common myths about home fire sprinklers. The demonstration is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on April 19 at the IGA in Granite Falls.
The live demonstration will include two similarly furnished rooms – one protected with fire sprinklers provided by Burns Fire Protection Systems LLC and the other not. People who attend the demonstration will be able to experience firsthand how quickly a fire can become deadly versus the effectiveness of a fire sprinkler system in controlling a fire.
Fire Chief Jim Haverfield stated “Our goal is to illustrate the danger of home fires and the life-saving benefits of home fire sprinklers. Home fire sprinklers and working smoke alarms can save lives.”
