Run or Dye comes to Lake Stevens

Run or Dye, the world’s most colorful 5K, will cover Downtown Lake Stevens in a shower of color on Saturday, July 12.

With a blast of color, a heap of happiness, a pinch of passion and a splash of spontaneity, Run or Dye is calling all residents to get off the couch and live life in full color.

Run or Dye is the first color 5K series to give participants access to at least five Dye Stations along the route. While Lake Stevens is guaranteed five Dye Stations, there will be the option to “earn” even more stations based on the number of participants who turn out. Participants will also be able to choose the colors used during the race through a new voting widget on the Run or Dye website. The increase in color options and the ability to paint Lake Stevens in a custom rainbow of colors allows participants to make their town their own personal masterpiece.

“We cannot wait to cover Lake Stevens in rainbows of color with Run or Dye,” said Viral Events founder and CEO Jake Ackerman. “Adding a town like Lake Stevens with great people and meaningful local charities is the ideal location we look for when we build long lasting and fruitful relationships.”

Run or Dye, the world’s most colorful 5K, is a recreational 5K that celebrates fitness, friendship and fun- all while blasting participants with safe, eco-friendly, plant-based dye powder. Run or Dye draws its inspiration from the ancient Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the “Festival of Colors.”

A leader in the fitness literacy movement, Run or Dye’s mission is to encourage better health, fitness and nutrition decisions among its participants and supporters. With races planned in more than 150 high-profile venues across the country, it is expected that more than 1 Million people will Run or Dye in 2014.

This Holi festival inspired event lets residents sing, dance, play, chase and color one another with powder to celebrate the triumph of good over bad, bridge social gaps and renew sweet relationships. In the same fashion the Give Love World Tour aims to encourage its participants to celebrate life, friendship, fitness and fun in full color

“We want to invite all of the local residents to come out for a morning filled with laughter, color and most importantly lasting memories,” continued Ackerman.
