Lake Stevens Fire Recognizes Commissioner Dan Lorentzen

September 24, 2014

Lake Stevens Fire recognized Fire Commissioner Dan Lorentzen at a special reception on Thursday morning, September 18th.  It was an opportunity to thank Commissioner Lorentzen for his 10+ years of dedicated service with Lake Stevens Fire.  He began his role as Fire Commissioner on July 7, 2004 and September 30, 2014 will mark the end of this role, as he moves forward as Lake Stevens’ Chief of Police.

Chief Dave Lingenfelter commented, “I have appreciated working closely with Dan for the past 10 years. I have found him to be a great asset to Lake Stevens Fire. The department has undergone many changes and seen much growth during Dan’s tenure as Fire Commissioner. Dan has been at the leading edge of those changes and growth, demonstrating fiscal responsibility, vision, dedication, and a balanced and thoughtful approach to the operational complexities of the department.  I would like to personally thank Dan for his decade of service to Lake Stevens Fire and we wish him the best as he leads the Lake Stevens Police Department into the future.”

Commissioner Troy Elmore commented, “It has been an absolute privilege working alongside Commissioner Lorentzen for the past ten years.  He is a wealth of knowledge and one of the most conscientious people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  The City of Lake Stevens is very fortunate to have him as their Police Chief.”

The Board of Commissioners has decided to appoint Jim Steinruck to fill the remainder of Commissioner Lorentzen’s term until the next election in November of 2015.  He will take his Oath of Office at the October 1st Commissioner Meeting next month.

Details explaining the role of a Fire Commissioner are posted on the Lake Stevens Fire website at: http://www.lsfire.org / Department Info / Commissioners.
