Karen Alessi Community Leader Memorial October 1st

Karen L Alessi, nee Johnson, was born in Seattle on February 20, 1939 and died in Everett, WA from complications of Alzheimer’s disease on September 24, 2014. She is survived by Art, her husband of 50 years, Allison, their daughter, her brother, Barry Johnson and his wife Mary, brother-in-law, Rob Alessi and wife Joan and sister-in-law, Joyce Maloney and husband Jim, 3 cousins and many, many friends.

She had resided in Lake Stevens on and off since 1947, continuously since 1970 until she was forced by failing health to move to Bethany at Silver Lake in October of 2012.  She also lived in Hawaii, where she and Art married in 1964 and she gave birth to Allison in 1967, and North Hampton, MA while attending Smith College from which she graduated in 1992. All of which gave this wonderful and charismatic story teller even more stories to tell.

Karen had an insatiable appetite for knowledge, a genuine love and interest in people and a tireless will to service many organizations and the community she called home. She was a cheerful, loving and caring person who always saw the best in people and situations. Her many accomplishments and contributions touched many lives and benefited the community at large.

A memorial service will be held on October 1st at 6pm at the Lake Stevens High School Performing Arts Center at 2908 113th Ave. N.E ., Lake Stevens, WA 98258. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Lake Stevens Senior Center at 2302 Soper Hill Rd, Lake Stevens, WA 98258.
