Lake Stevens swimmer holds local Open Water record

Felicity Speirs, a member of Storm Aquatics, holds the record for the one mile swim.

Pacific Northwest Swimming held their premiere “Open Water Championships” on Saturday, September 25, 2012 at Angle Lake in Sea-Tac.

A total of 25 swimmers competed in three events – 500 yard Sprint, One Mile Swim, and the Two Mile Swim.

A total of ten meet records were set.

Felicity Speirs, a junior at Lake Stevens High School and a member of Storm Aquatics, Lake Stevens’ community swim club, holds the record for the one mile swim coming in at just over 23 minutes.

Felicity was joined by her fellow Storm teammate Brittaney Tourigny who came in second just moments behind Speirs.
